Yeast cake with pears and crumble - the perfect recipe for a sweet dessert

When we think about yeast cakes, traditional cakes, buns or cinnamon buns usually come to mind. But yeast dough is much more than these classic pastries. It is a real field for culinary experiments, a place where we can give free rein to our creativity and bake delicious, sweet desserts. One of such original recipes is yeast cake with pears and crumble. It is a combination of delicate, fluffy yeast dough, sweet and sour pears and crunchy crumble, which adds a unique character to the whole thing. This combination of flavors and textures makes the cake a real culinary work of art. Yeast dough with pears and crumble is a perfect choice for a family meeting, birthday party or just for an afternoon dessert. Thanks to the pears, which add lightness and refreshment, the cake is not too heavy or too sweet. This is an excellent proposition for all lovers of sweets.

Ingredients:

  • 500g (17.6oz) wheat flour
  • 50g (1.8oz) fresh yeast
  • 250ml (8.5fl oz) of milk
  • 100g (3.5oz) sugar
  • 100g (3.5oz) butter
  • 2 eggs
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 medium-sized pears
  • 50g (1.8oz) sugar
  • 200g (7.1oz) wheat flour
  • 100g (3.5oz) butter
  • 100g (3.5oz) sugar

Instructions:

  1. We dissolve the yeast in warm milk with the addition of sugar. Leave for 15 minutes for the yeast to 'start'.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, melted butter, eggs and our yeast with milk. Knead the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic. Then cover the bowl and leave in a warm place for about 1-2 hours for the dough to rise.
  3. Meanwhile, peel the pears, remove the seeds and cut them into thin slices. Mix with sugar and set aside.
  4. To make the crumble, mix the flour, butter and sugar until you get the consistency of a thick crumble.
  5. When the dough has risen, roll it out onto a baking sheet. Place pears on it and sprinkle with crumble.
  6. Bake the cake in an oven preheated to 180°C (356°F) for about 35-40 minutes, until the cake is golden and the crumble is crispy.
