Ingredients:

  • 4 medium pears
  • 200g (7oz) wheat flour
  • 150g (5.3oz) sugar
  • 100g (3.5oz) walnuts
  • 100g (3.5oz) butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (356°F). Grease and line a baking tin with a diameter of about 22 cm.
  2. Cut the pears into thin slices. Finely chop the walnuts.
  3. In a bowl, mix butter with sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing all the time.
  5. In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder and cinnamon. Then add to the egg mixture, mixing until combined.
  6. Add the chopped nuts to the dough and mix well.
  7. Pour the dough into the prepared form, put pear slices on top.
  8. Bake the cake in the oven for about 40-50 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean. After baking, leave the cake to cool.
