Ingredients:

  • 500g (17.6oz) wheat flour
  • 25g (0.88oz) fresh yeast
  • 250ml (8.5fl oz) of milk
  • 100g (3.5oz) sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 100g (3.5oz) butter
  • pinch of salt
  • 1kg (35.3oz) sour apples
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Crumble the yeast into a bowl, add a tablespoon of sugar and pour over the warm milk. Set aside for 15 minutes for the yeast to work.
  2. In a large bowl, add the flour, salt, sugar, eggs and melted butter.
  3. Add the yeast mixture to the bowl with the remaining ingredients and knead the dough. The dough should be smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover the bowl with the dough with a cloth and leave it in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours, so that the dough doubles in size.
  5. Meanwhile, peel the apples, cut them into thin slices and mix them with sugar and cinnamon.
  6. After the dough has risen, roll it out onto a baking tray, put the apples on it and knead the edges of the dough.
  7. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees C for about 35-40 minutes, until the pastry is golden.
