Ingredients:

  • 225g (8oz) flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
  • 100g (3.5oz) walnuts, chopped
  • 150g (5.3oz) butter, melted
  • 200g (7oz) sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 500g (1.1lb) apples, peeled and thinly sliced

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour the baking form.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and chopped nuts.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix until ingredients are combined. Add chopped apples and mix gently.
  5. Transfer the dough to the prepared form. Bake for about 50-60 minutes until the pastry is golden and the tester comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cake to cool, then cut into pieces and serve.
