It uses the full flavor of ripe apples, emphasizing their sweet and sour taste with caramel. Cake with apples and caramel is the perfect dessert for colder days. The caramel, which is the key ingredient of this dessert, gives it a depth of flavor, making it even more appetizing. When we caramelize the apples, the fruit begins to release juice, which mixes with the caramel, creating a truly heavenly combination of flavors. In addition, the apple and caramel cake is not only tasty, but also beautiful. When you take them out of the oven, you'll see the apples covered in a shiny golden layer of caramel, making this dessert a real feast for the eyes.
Ingredients:
- 300g (10.5oz) wheat flour
- 200g (7oz) sugar
- 200g (7oz) butter
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 200g (7oz) sugar
- 50g (1.7oz) butter
- 100ml (3.3fl oz) cream 30%
- 4 medium apples
Instructions:
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, butter, eggs, baking powder and cinnamon until you get a uniform dough.
- Peel the apples, cut into quarters, and then remove the cores.
- In a saucepan, melt the sugar over medium heat until it turns golden. Add butter and cream, stirring until ingredients are combined.
- Put the apples in the tart mold, pour the caramel over it, and then cover it with the dough.
- Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C (356°F) for about 45 minutes.
