Ingredients:
- 6-7 apples, peeled and thinly sliced
- 250g (8.5oz) all-purpose flour
- 200g (7oz) butter, cold and cut into small cubes
- 150g (5.5oz) sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon vanilla sugar
- Cinnamon for sprinkling
Instructions:
- In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and baking powder. Add the butter and knead until crumbly.
- Add the egg and continue kneading until the ingredients combine and form a smooth dough.
- Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix the apple slices with vanilla sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll out half of the dough on a greased baking dish and place it at the bottom of the dish.
- Evenly spread the apple slices on the dough.
- Roll out the remaining half of the dough and use it to cover the apples, pressing the edges.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356F) for about 40-50 minutes, until the pie is golden and the apples are soft.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool before slicing.
