Ingredients:

  • 6-7 apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 250g (8.5oz) all-purpose flour
  • 200g (7oz) butter, cold and cut into small cubes
  • 150g (5.5oz) sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla sugar
  • Cinnamon for sprinkling

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and baking powder. Add the butter and knead until crumbly.
  2. Add the egg and continue kneading until the ingredients combine and form a smooth dough.
  3. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix the apple slices with vanilla sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Roll out half of the dough on a greased baking dish and place it at the bottom of the dish.
  6. Evenly spread the apple slices on the dough.
  7. Roll out the remaining half of the dough and use it to cover the apples, pressing the edges.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356F) for about 40-50 minutes, until the pie is golden and the apples are soft.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool before slicing.
