- 500 g (17.6 oz) mushrooms - plain or brown
- 500 ml (17 fl oz) water or vegetable or chicken stock
- 2 medium onions - up to 400 g (14 oz)
- 2 medium potatoes - up to 300 g (10.5 oz)
- 1 small parsley root - about 60 g (2.1 oz)
- 1 small carrot - about 80 g (2.8 oz)
- 4 tablespoons (60 ml) of olive oil or oil
- spices: 1 teaspoon of salt; half a level teaspoon of pepper; a pinch of ground cumin
- optional additions: sour or sweet cream; parsley or chives; croutons or puff pastry
Instructions:
