Ingredients:

  • 2 pork knuckles
  • 1 liter of light beer
  • 2 onions
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 4 grains of allspice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Peel the onion and garlic, then cut into thick cubes.
  2. In a large pot, sauté the onion and garlic in a little oil until translucent.
  3. Season the pork knuckles with salt and pepper, then add to the pot. Fry on each side until golden in color.
  4. When the pork knuckles are browned, pour the beer into the pot. Add bay leaves and allspice.
  5. Cook the pork knuckles covered over low heat for about 2-3 hours, until the meat becomes very tender.
  6. At the end of cooking, check the taste and season with salt and pepper if necessary.
  7. Ready pork knuckles are served with your favorite additions, such as baked potatoes and sauerkraut.
