Ingredients:

  • 200g (7oz) spaghetti noodles
  • 1 cup (8.5fl oz) 30% cream
  • 2 cloves garlic (about 10g/0.35oz)
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: fresh herbs (e.g. basil or parsley) for decoration

Instructions:

  1. Boil water in a large pot, add plenty of salt, then toss in the pasta. Cook according to package instructions until al dente .
  2. Meanwhile, peel and chop the garlic. Heat butter in a pan, then add garlic and fry until fragrant.
  3. Add the cream to the garlic, reduce the heat and cook until the sauce starts to thicken. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Drain the pasta but keep a few tablespoons of the pasta water. Add the pasta to the cream sauce and mix well, adding a little of the pasta water if the sauce is too thick.
  5. Serve the pasta sprinkled with fresh herbs.
