Ingredients:

  • 500g (17.6 oz) minced meat (e.g. beef, pork or mixed)
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 egg
  • 100g (3.5 oz) breadcrumbs
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 500g (17.6 oz) tomato passata
  • 1 tablespoon of oil

Instructions:

  1. Peel the onion and garlic and chop finely.
  2. In a bowl, mix the minced meat, chopped onion, garlic, egg and breadcrumbs. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Form small meatballs, the size of a walnut.
  4. Heat the oil in a frying pan, then fry the meatballs over medium heat until golden brown on all sides.
  5. Add the tomato passata to the pan with the meatballs, reduce the heat to minimum, cover the pan and cook for about 20 minutes.
