Ingredients:

  • 1 kg (35.3oz) potatoes
  • 200g (7oz) feta cheese
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 150ml (5fl oz) cream 30%
  • salt pepper
  • herbs to taste (e.g. oregano, thyme)

Instructions:

  1. Peel the potatoes, cut into slices and cook al dente in salted water . Strain.
  2. Finely chop the onion and garlic, and dice the feta cheese.
  3. Heat the butter in a pan, add the chopped onion and garlic, fry until the onion becomes glassy.
  4. Boiled potatoes, fried onion with garlic and feta cheese put in an ovenproof dish.
  5. Pour the cream over everything, season to taste with salt, pepper and herbs.
  6. Place the casserole in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for about 30 minutes, until the feta cheese is melted and the casserole begins to brown nicely.
