Noodles With Cabbage
Łazanki with cabbage is a traditional Polish dish that has a deeply rooted place in the cuisine and culture of this country. Ingredients:
- 500g (18oz) noodles
- 1 head of cabbage (about 1kg/35oz)
- 200g (7oz) smoked bacon
- 1 onion
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Water for cooking
Instructions:
- Finely chop the cabbage. Cut the bacon and onion into small cubes as well.
- Heat the butter in a large frying pan. Add bacon and cook over medium heat until crispy.
- Add the onion to the bacon and fry until glassy.
- Add the cabbage, season with salt and pepper and cook over medium heat until the cabbage is tender and starting to brown slightly.
- At the same time, cook the noodles in a large pot according to the instructions on the package. When ready, drain and add to the cabbage.
- Mix everything thoroughly, check if the dish is properly seasoned and serve.
