Ingredients:

  • 1 kg (2.2 lbs ) of potatoes
  • 200g (7 oz) bacon
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 eggs
  • 200 ml (6.8 fl oz) 30% cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 100g (3.5 oz) grated cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of butter

Instructions:

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut into thin slices. Dice the bacon.
  2. Heat butter in a pan, add chopped bacon and fry until crispy. Add chopped onion and garlic, fry until onion turns translucent.
  3. In a bowl, mix eggs with sour cream, add salt and pepper to taste.
  4. At the bottom of a heat-resistant dish, spread some potato slices, put some bacon with onion on top, pour over the cream sauce, sprinkle with cheese. Repeat the layers.
  5. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C (356°F) for about 40-45 minutes until the casserole is golden and the potatoes are tender.
