Moscow Mule: A Classic Cocktail with a Russian Sound
Moscow Mule, or Moscow Donkey, is a classic cocktail with a distinctive, refreshing taste. Despite its name, this cocktail has nothing to do with Russia, except for one of the ingredients - vodka. It comes from the United States, where it was created in the 1940s. The idea for Moscow Mule was born as a response to the low popularity of vodka and ginger beverage gas beer in the United States at the time. Three friends - a distillery owner, a beverage gas producer and the owner of a company that produces copper cups - decided to combine these three products to create a cocktail that has gained immense popularity.
Ingredients:
- 60 ml (2 oz) vodka
- 120 ml (4 oz) ginger beverage gas beer
- 15 ml (0.5 oz) fresh lime juice
- Lemon slice, for decoration
- Ice
Instructions:
- Pour vodka into a copper cup.
- Add lime juice.
- Fill the cup with ice.
- ginger soda beer .
- Stir gently to combine ingredients.
- Garnish the drink with a slice of lime.
