It is a dish that, although it requires a certain amount of work, always brings satisfaction and pleases the palate with its unique flavors.

Ingredients:

  • 4 herring fillets (preferably in oil)
  • 2 onions
  • 2 apples
  • 4 eggs
  • 150g (5.3 oz) mayonnaise
  • 100g (3.5 oz) natural yogurt
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Wash the herring fillets, dry and cut into small pieces. Peel the onion, cut into small cubes and fry in a pan until golden. Peel the apples, grate on a coarse grater and squeeze out the excess juice.
  2. Hard boil the eggs, then peel and grate.
  3. In a large bowl, mix mayonnaise and yogurt, then season to taste with salt and pepper.
  4. At the bottom of the salad bowl, put a layer of sliced herring, then put a layer of fried onion, and then a layer of grated apples. Spread a layer of grated eggs on the apples, and cover the whole thing with a layer of mayonnaise-yoghurt sauce.
