Dumplings with Meat: Traditional Flavors of Polish Cuisine

This is what is beautiful about Polish cuisine: the richness of flavors, the variety of ingredients and the ability to create truly satisfying dishes from simple, available ingredients. Dumplings with meat are one of the treasures of our kitchen. They are popular throughout Mazovia, Warmia, Masuria and Podlasie, and their history can be traced back to the Middle Ages. Pyzy are a type of dumplings, usually served with meat, although there are also versions with blueberries, cottage cheese or cheese. Made from raw or cooked potatoes, often with the addition of flour, dumplings are simple and nutritious at the same time. They are on the list of 'Traditional Products' of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Although pyzy with meat is a dish that can be found in many Polish homes, it is not a dish that can be prepared quickly. Preparing this meal requires some work and time, but the end result is worth every moment.
