Ingredients:

  • 500g wheat flour (17.6oz)
  • 325ml warm water (11fl oz)
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 teaspoons of sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of dry yeast

Instructions:

  1. Combine dry flour, salt and sugar in a bowl.
  2. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water, add the sugar and let it sit for a few minutes until it foams.
  3. Add the yeast water to the dry mixture, then mix until you get a uniform dough.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a bowl covered with cling film and let it rise for about 2 hours until doubled in size.
  6. After this time, knead the dough again, and then form a loaf. Transfer it to a greased bread pan.
  7. Leave the dough for another 30 minutes until it rises again.
  8. Preheat the oven to 200°C and bake the bread for about 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
