- 200g flour (7oz)
- 200g sugar (7oz)
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 100ml oil (3.4 fl oz)
- 100ml milk (3.4 fl oz)
- 500g strawberries (17.6oz)
- 500ml cream 30% (17.2 fl oz)
- 100g powdered sugar (3.5oz)
- Place eggs and sugar in a bowl. Beat until light and fluffy.
- Add flour sifted with baking powder, then oil and milk. Mix gently.
- Pour the batter into a cake tin lined with baking paper. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C for about 40 minutes. Leave the baked cake to cool.
- In the meantime, prepare the cream. Wash strawberries, dry, remove stems and cut into small pieces.
- Whip the cream stiff with powdered sugar. Add chopped strawberries and mix gently.
- Cut the cooled cake in half. Soak the lower part with milk, and then spread half of the cream on it. Cover with the other part of the cake, soak with milk and apply the rest of the cream.
- Decorate the cake at your discretion - it can be additional strawberries, whipped cream or sprinkles.
